State House Volunteer Tour Guide Information Session

Past event
Apr 3, 2023, 2 to 3 PM

The State Curator's Office and the Friends of the Vermont State House are seeking volunteer tour guides to help students learn about Vermont's system of government and civic values. After three years, the State House is finally fully open to the public and we are eager to make up for lost time in engaging the youth who constitute the future of our democratic society!

Interested individuals who enjoy working with young people are encouraged to join us on Monday, April 3rd at 2:00 PM in the State House cafeteria for a reception and information session with light refreshments.

No prior knowledge of the State House is necessary! After the gathering on April 3rd, prospective tour guides will be able to sign up to attend training sessions and shadow current tour guides to sufficiently develop their knowledge of the subject matter.

Scheduling is flexible! School groups generally visit the State House Tuesday-Friday during the spring. Tour dates are advertised to volunteers in advance, who then choose what best suits their availability. School tours usually last 45 minutes each.

If you are interested in joining us on April 3rd, please RSVP to Angelica Caterino, State House Tours Coordinator, at visit@leg.state.vt.us. Interested in becoming a tour guide, but unable to join us on April 3rd? Please reach out to the same email.
