'Jazz at the Lantern' ~ a monthly celebration of the Art of Jazz is back on April 13th with The Ray Vega Quintet.
Join us at the Brass Lantern Inn for a delicious dessert spread, a cash bar, and Vermont's very own internationally acclaimed sweetheart, Ray Vega, and his Quintet. Reserve a table, order charcuterie or bruschetta and a bottle of wine to enjoy the musicians up close, or mingle in the Inn's lounge with comfy couches and a roaring fire.

Ray Vega is a Senior Lecturer of jazz history and trumpet at the University of Vermont, and the host of Vermont Public Radio's Friday Night Jazz. Ray Vega grew up in the heart New York City's vibrant Jazz and Salsa scenes. In addition to learning about these two musical styles with some of the great legends, he received his formal training studying trumpet with Sidney Baker, Henry Nowak, Mike Lawrence, Stan Shafran, Richard Brezowski and Jerry Gonzalez. He studied Jazz harmony and improvisation with Susan Winder, Bobby Rogovin and Lonnie Hillyer. Vega studied Afro-Caribbean percussion with Luis Bauzo. Ray's a veteran of the bands of Tito Puente, Ray Barretto, Mongo Santamaria, Mario Bauza, Luis "Perico" Ortiz, Hector LaVoe, Johnny Pacheco, Larry Harlow, Pete "El Conde" Rodriguez and Louie Ramirez to name a few.
Ray will be accompanied by some of Vermont's finest and most sought after Jazz Musicians:
