Free Women's History Month Films
The Workers Unite Film Festival is honoring Women's History Month with its latest line-up of virtual, on-demand screenings . The Festival is co-sponsored by the Barre Historical Society/Old Labor Hall. The films will be available for free from 6 PM on March 24th through 11:45 PM on March 31st.
"Aparecides" – A massive popular uprising in the Santiago, Chile forces a young Thai singer performing in an exclusive lounge to choose between escaping like the elites she performs for or staying and changing her song.
"Spread Thin" – Chelsey Glasson's life is changed forever when she reports overhearing a senior manager make discriminatory remarks about a pregnant employee at the large tech company where she's an up-and-coming manager.
"Berta Didn't Die, She Multiplied!" – The murder of world renowned Indigenous leader Berta Cáceres', who fought to expose the brutality of the privatization of mother earth, ignites an international movement for justice, Indigenous sovereignty, and the planet.
"Long Haulers" – This experimental documentary gives agency, voice, and perspective into the world of a female trucker.
"Anchor Point" – In this documentary, women firefighters battle to change the culture of firefighting on our nation's public lands and to build an equitable workplace free from discrimination and assault.
"La Lucha Sigue" ("The Struggle Continues") – In Honduras, the Lenca and Garífuna land defenders, including the daughter of activist Berta Cáceres, fight to uphold their rights and cultures in the face of state-backed mega-projects and narco-traffickers who seek to assassinate them, destroy their lands, and erase their existence.
