Have you ever tried to launch bread in the air with a toaster? And why not?

For kids ages 9+ and their parents, come check out the latest Family STEM Workshop at the Pierson Library: Toaster Cannons. In this fun, hands-on class we'll be taking apart a standard pop toaster, learning about springs, and souping that toaster up to launch bread into the air. Can you beat our record of over 6.5 ft high? This class is great for learning reverse engineering and design through iteration (trial and error).

This class is what happens when a bunch of NASA engineers sit down and ask, why can't mechanical engineers hack things too? Toaster Cannons is one of my most popular classes, and a blast to watch.

We provide everything, but if you have leather work gloves that fit you and/or your child, please bring them.
