Attention all Bethel Voters
Due to the Town not meeting all statutory bond voting notification laws, the Australian ballot bond vote held on Town Meeting Day was considered an advisory/non-binding vote.
We will vote again on TUESDAY, April 18th, 2023, at the White River Unified Middle School (Bethel Campus/Elementary School Lobby) between the hours of 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM, on the same question (below).
"Shall general obligation bonds or notes of the Town of Bethel in an aggregate amount not to exceed Two Million Five Hundred Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($2,500,000.00), subject to reduction by state and federal grants-in-aid and other financial assistance, be issued to fund the costs and expenses of making capital improvements to the water system of the Town of Bethel?"
The project has not changed, the price has not changed, nor has the state aid we expect to receive.
To request an absentee ballot for the Tuesday, April 18th Australian ballot vote, you may:
1. Stop by the Town Office and request a ballot or vote in person.
2. Call the Town Manager's Office 24/7 at 802-234-9340, to request a ballot be mailed to you. [If it is after hours, please clearly state your name and phone number in your voicemail message, in case we need to call you back.]
3. Email Town Clerk Pam Brown, at betheltownclerk@comcast.net to request a ballot be mailed to you. If you do not receive an email response within 48 hours, please call her office at 802-234-9722.
We apologize for any inconvenience this revote causes you, and thank you in advance for voting again on April 18th. An informational meeting will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023 as part of a Selectboard meeting at 6pm at Town Hall, or via zoom. (Please check the town's website at www.townofbethelvt.org) for the zoom link.
Thank you all,
Therese Kirby, Town Manager
