Rise Up Bakery in Barre is having their final workshop of the season - "Baking Naturally Leavened Breads" on Sunday, March 26 from 12:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Sourdough baking is definitely our most popular class. This workshop is a great source of knowledge for both new and experienced home bakers. Unlike the virtual workshops, this class will be a very hands-on experience. You will create your own sourdough boule, and together we guide you through your dough development. Personal interaction is very helpful and essential. Here's what you will learn and do: overview of flours; how to create and maintain your own wheat sourdough starter; troubleshooting; baker's math overview; dough handling - kneading, development, forming, scoring and baking. Ingredients are provided by the bakery and each participant will leave with a sourdough loaf and sourdough starter.
