Join the Morristown Centennial Library and the Lamoille Regional Solid Waste Management District for a screening of "Just Eat It: A Food Waste Story" on Wednesday, March 22 at 5:00.
In this 74 minute documentary, filmmakers and food lovers Jen and Grant dive into the issue of waste from farm, through retail, all the way to the back of their own fridge. After catching a glimpse of the billions of dollars of good food that is tossed each year in North America, they pledge to quit grocery shopping cold turkey and survive only on foods that would otherwise be thrown away. In a nation where so many struggle with food insecurity, the images they capture of squandered groceries are both shocking and strangely compelling. Representatives from Salvations Farms, the Lamoille Regional Solid Waste Management District, and the Lamoille Community Food Share will be on hand to talk about the work that is being done locally to reduce food waste and keep good food cycling through the community instead of adding to the landfill. Please join us and get inspired about reducing food waste in your home and community!
