The Hinesburg Food Shelf, a division of the Hinesburg Community Resource Center (HCRC), is pleased to announce our Fresh Food Fund, a program designed to supplement the commodity foods we offer with fresh local vegetables available during the Vermont growing season. The fund is a cooperative arrangement between the Hinesburg Food Shelf and Full Moon Farm, an organic farm located in Hinesburg. The program is constructed on a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) model, where the HCRC purchases a “share” of vegetables at the beginning of the season, and participates in a weekly pickup of seasonal vegetables between June and November. The HCRC share consists of four large Full Moon Farm shares as well as additional surplus vegetables and gleaning privileges at the farm.

Please come and support this initiative by joining us on Tuesday, August 5th at the Hinesburgh Public House for a delicious meal. For $20.00 you will enjoy a delicious dinner and 50% of the proceeds will go directly to the Fresh Food Fund.
