Please join us for a morning with storyteller, Beth Kanell while she brings us on a journey through her Winds of Freedom series, a teen adventure series set in the 1850s in North Danville, Vermont.

Her 1852 Vermont adventure, THIS ARDENT FLAME, was published in June 2021 with Five Star/Cengage .

Marvin Minkler of Modern First Editions gave this book a 5 star Review:
"Beth Kanell's ardor and mastery of her craft has been apparent in her rich novels, set in her home state, of Vermont, for quite some time. She still walks the winding trails of Caledonia County. It's history, green hills, forests and rivers, have long fascinated the writer, and from it's rich past, she has hoisted from it's deep wells, for her fresh and authentic tales." "Book 2 – This Ardent Flame is set in 1852, and finds returning heroine Alice Sanborn, now seventeen years old, living in the farming village of North Upton, (North Danville.). Much of the novel takes place in other towns in the Northeast Kingdom, including Saint Johnsbury, and even mentions the Gillman Mills."
