The Lake Champlain Basin Program is pleased to invite you back to our Love the Lake speaker series on Thursday, March 16, 6:30 PM at our office, 54 West Shore Road in Grand Isle.
On 3/16 we hear from Michale Glennon, Senior Research Scientist at Paul Smith's College-Adirondack Watershed Institute, who will discuss 'Wool and Water'. This is a data art project that blends fiber art with scientific data to create visual representations of changing water quality conditions in the Adirondacks and Lake Champlain Basin. Some examples of her work: a crocheted dress representing global temperature anomalies, a scarf showing the threat to ice fishing resulting from climate change, and a sweater depicting the ice record for Mirror Lake in Lake Placid. It's an interesting and unique spin on interpreting water quality and climate change data. www.adkwatershed.org/wool-water
Please note: proof of vaccination is required. Air filters will be on and fresh air will be flowing. Homemade desserts will be ready by 6:00 PM--bring your appetite :)
