Winter Wednesday Series: Backyard Chickens

Past event
Mar 15, 2023, 6 to 7:30 PM

Come visit the Worthen Library on Wednesday March 15th at 6pm for the third event in the Winter Wednesdays series! Joining us this time is Natalie Kendrach, who will be giving a talk about backyard chickens.

Raising backyard chickens is a great way to become more self-sufficient, raise your own healthy food source, and have a flock of lovable new pets. Besides producing quality eggs to eat and share, raising chickens can be an enjoyable pastime for youth and adults alike. Natalie's presentation will answer all your backyard chicken questions and give you the confidence to start your own flock.

Natalie and her husband, Mitchell moved to South Hero in 2019 with their two children, Olivia and Henry. After growing up in the suburbs of Columbus, Ohio, Natalie fell in love with the rural setting of South Hero, the community here, and her flock of chickens. In addition to her role on the board of South Hero Land Trust, she serves on the Board of Trustees for the Worthen Library and works as an Interventionist at North Hero School.

The Winter Wednesdays 2023 series is a partnership project of the Worthen Library, South Hero Land Trust, and Healthy Roots Collaborative. Funding made possible by members and donors of each organization.

All events are free. All are welcome. Light snacks provided by Arbor Farm Market.
