The 2022 Vermont Humanities Council's Vermont Reads title, The Most Costly Journey is graphic novel collaboration between migrant farm workers in the Vermont dairy industry and New England cartoonist exploring border crossings, mental health, and the importance of family/community of one of Vermont's most vital unseen communities.
Presented in partnership with Stowe Land Trust, the Stowe Free Library invites teens, young adults, new adults and any interested adults to join us for an intro to the novel, and a conversation about agriculture, migration, and how migrant workers enhance the vitality of Vermont.
