The Unitarian Church of Montpelier is sponsoring a Grace Clarke Lecture and vegetarian dinner on Saturday, March 18 at 6:00 p.m. The meal, catered by Mollie McElroy, will include hot cider, roasted tomato and white bean stew, gluten free cornbread and gluten free fruit crumble with coffee or tea. The speaker is Bradley Materick, a graduate of the UVM Field Naturalist Program and associated with Fox Paws School in Marshfield. His talk, entitled A Naturalist's Journey Through Time: A Billion Years of History in the Winooski River Watershed, will present a "big picture" view of the forces that have shaped the Winooski River watershed in particular using images, diagrams, and animations to explain natural and cultural processes that have occurred over eons.
