Free Upcoming Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

WCPP invites you to sign up for Youth Mental Health First Aid (yMHFA) this March 2023. The training is being offered at no-cost through a grant initiative aligned with Vermont Care Partners and the Agency of Education. yMHFA will be split into two (2) two (2) hour sessions from 4 PM to 6 PM on Tuesday, March 28 and Thursday, March 30 with a pre-training pre-work online module that takes about two hours.

MHFA helps you learn an action plan to determine if a youth ages 6 to 18 is experiencing a sign or a symptom of a mental health issue and how to talk to them and get them to the next level care they need. This training also help you learn how to take care of yourself while doing this important work.

There are two hours of online pre-work as well as access to a digital device and zoom for the LIVE session. Please let us know if you need support to complete the prework.

The training will be led by Sunny Noelle Naughton of Sunshine Silver Lining, a mental health and wellness consultancy, who was the top MHFA trainer in Vermont in 2019 as well as a Prevention Works! Vermont Award Recipient in the same year.

The WINDHAM COUNTY PREVENTION PARTNERSHIP (WCPP) includes three prevention coalitions in Windham County who work together to support a comprehensive effort to promote wellness and prevent the use/misuse of substances, primarily by youth and young adults throughout Windham County. WCPP includes Building A Positive Community (BAPC), Deerfield Valley Community Partnership (DVCP), and West River Valley Thrives (WRVT).
