On Sunday, March 12, 11am-2pm, an afterschool club at the St. Johnsbury School will brighten your day--and maybe help brighten long, gray winters in the future.
From December 2022 through February 2023, the "Let There Be Light" club of 5th-8th graders learned about community resources and everyday strategies that we all can use to stay physically and mentally healthy even when temperatures and natural light are low.
If you drop by the gym on the second floor of the St. Johnsbury School (257 Western Ave.), you are guaranteed to
-show a small group of hard-working youth that their interest in other people's well-being is appreciated
-learn more than you already know about at least one community organization that lightens and brightens lives in the NEK
-learn at least one game or activity that costs little and boosts mood and optimism
-smile and laugh at least once--if only because you'll hear people do bad karaoke to songs about sun and light (Walking on Sunshine, Here Comes the Sun, The Future's So Bright I Gotta Wear Shades, etc.)
