As a final reminder, the Cabot School District Annual Meeting will be held this evening (3/6/23) at 6:30pm in the Cabot School Performing Arts Center (CSPAC) building. Finally, a few highlights and answers to frequently asked questions:
- The proposed increase in budget is BELOW last year's inflation rate - and the anticipated homestead tax rate is $0.03 above last year's approved budget.
- 74% of Cabot homesteads pay education tax by homestead income, not homestead value and the corresponding tax rate -- these taxpayers will see a 0.13% reduction in education tax liability.
- Cabot School District is proposing the lowest per pupil spending of the five districts in our supervisory union
- Budget is NOT subject to any penalty and is below the excess spending threshold.
The Board is hopeful that this budget will pass on its first attempt, unlike past years. The Board was mindful of this history and has attempted to provide the best value possible to taxpayers. Thank you for your support and consideration.
