Norwich University invites students, staff, and community members to attend two documentary theatre workshops. Please share this announcement with your students and neighbors. See attached flyer.

Listen Up Theatre Workshop
Tuesday, March 14, at 5:30-6:45pm in Mack Hall room 205
The Listen Up Project is an original musical based on interviews, workshops, and conversations with more than 800 teens across Vermont. Isaac Eddy and Sarah Lowry (co-directors) will offer practical activities for how to develop similar projects: using interviews and other text to create expressionistic interpretations of individual and community identity through tableaux, sound, and gesture.

From Lips to Stage: Creating Documentary Theater
Tuesday, March 28, at 5:30-6:45pm in Mack Hall room 205
This workshop is led by Nicola Smith and Samantha Lazar, the creators of the 2019 play Deployed, a work of documentary theater based on interviews with female veterans. Workshop participants will experience the art of interviewing and of turning interviewees' verbatim words into stories and dialogue fit for the stage.

These workshops will be free and open to the public.

Community members may park on-campus after 5pm, except in student residential lots.

Made possible by the Norwich Race and History Project with support from the Vermont Humanities Council.
