The first OLLI lecture this season is given by Tom Evslin and is titled: "From Farm to Forest". Carbon sequestration by trees is a crucial way of reducing atmospheric CO2. Vermont can both reduce net emissions and repurpose dairy farmland which is no longer productive with a combination of restored forestland and housing. The talk explores both the potential and the downside of farm to forest conversion. Lecture is held at the Stowe Cinema 3Plex, 464 Mountain Road in Stowe. Lecture begins at 1 PM sharp. The lecture admission is $8.00 which must be paid in advance by credit card at learn.uvm.edu/olli/lamoille or by calling 802-656-5817. Pay for the whole series of lectures for $45.00. Remember to save Wednesday at 1 PM for our OLLI lectures.
