Rally for Clean Drinking Water

On Saturday, August 16 beginning at 11am on the state house lawn the Citizens to Protect Berlin Pond will be holding a rally for clean drinking water.

There will be guest speakers to include Montpelier Mayor John Hollar and Representative Warren Kitzmiller.

The Citizens to Protect Berlin Pond have submitted a Surface Water petition to the Agency of Natural Resources who are now in deliberation about it.

It is our hope that Berlin pond will be returned to an “eyes only” access and therefore the sole source of drinking water for the Capital City will be fully protected, as it had been for over one hundred years.

It is the drinking water for your homes and your schools. Your hospital and your businesses- it supplies more than 20,000 people per day with clean water.

It is the water that comes out of the tap in your capital.

It is imperative that we speak up at this rally. We need to let our decision makers know that we want our drinking water protected.
