On Saturday morning, there will be a light hearted race to a harbor across the lake, approximately 1 mile, where we hope to take a swim before racing back the 1 mile to our North Harbor. The St. Ayles Skiffs may be joined by various other boats, especially our 6 person Cornish Pilot Gigs. Gigs will be available to teams on a first-come basis (sign up with Lisa lisap@lcmm.org ). There is no fee for the Saturday race.

On Sunday, the museum will hold its annual Lake Champlain Challenge Race, which is a 3 mile triangular race course across the lake and then back to our harbor. The course covers some of most beautiful scenery on Lake Champlain. This event has a registration fee of $20.00 (which includes Museum admission). Registration starts at 9:30 and the race begins at 11:00 and is open to all types of human-powered boats )sign up with npatch@lcmm.org).

The most unusual boat expected at the event is Sephira, built by students and staff at Moravian Academy, in Bethlehem, PA. Both a boat and a musical instrument, Sephira is a St. Ayles Skiff specially modified by woodturning artist Michael Brolly to include an Aeolian harp that creates harmonic notes in the range of whale song https://www.facebook.com/TheMusicalArk/info . After the morning rowing/racing event, Michael will be stringing Sephira on Saturday afternoon at 1:30, and that afternoon Museum visitors are welcome to play her as an instrument, or bring their instruments and make music together.
