We worship this Sunday in Grand Isle at 10:30. It's the first Sunday in Lent, and Jacqueline Hughes will lead worship and share in its sermon her thoughts and experiences about this great season.
The Gospel reading is Matthew 4:1-11, in which Jesus is tempted by the devil in the wilderness. Bulletins will be available in church.
Here is a short hymn sung on this Sunday during the Eastern Orthodox liturgy:
"We worship you, O Good One,
asking the forgiveness of our failings,
O Christ; for of your own will
you were well-pleased to ascend
the Cross in the flesh,
that you might deliver from slavery
to sin and death
those you had fashioned.
For this reason we cry to you thankfully.
You filled all things with joy, O our Savior,
when you came to save the world."
Many blessings,
Pastor Chico
P.S. I will be visiting family out of town this week. In case of emergency, please contact Jacqueline Hughes or Mike Tranby. Thank you!
