The Craftsbury Energy Committee will have an info table at Town Meeting!
We will have information on incentives and rebates for many different products and services.
Amongst all the info, we can talk to you about our Window Insert Program that helps people stay warmer in their homes while saving money on heating bills!
Stop by our info table to enter the drawing for 5 Free Window Inserts!
Many Vermonters tape plastic on the inside or outside of their windows hoping to be more comfortable.
But there is a better, more affordable alternative – window inserts. Inserts are lightweight, snug-fitting, reusable interior storm windows built by local volunteers for themselves and their neighbors.
The average-sized 3' x 4' window insert saves an average of six gallons of fuel oil per year!
That is an average of $30 savings per window per year!
The cost of that same average 3' x 4' insert is $45, but we encourage "Pay what you can". (Cost varies according to the size of the window)
Ways to window insert ownership:
1 - We give away up to 10 Free window inserts to those who cannot afford them. No application is required!
2 - Efficiency Vermont offers "Buy 3 Inserts and get a $100 rebate!" We can process the application for you!
3 - We are offering a drawing for 5 Free window inserts!
4 - Pay what you can!

The process involves energy committee members measuring your windows this May with an infrared measuring device and then the construction of the frames and plastic will happen in late October in Craftsbury.
One of the keys to the low cost is the collaboration with the recipients and volunteers, when possible, building the inserts in the construction workshop.
