Troop 631 Bottle Drive this Sunday Feb 26 9am-12pm to support Colby's Eagle Scout project ~For Passion 4 Paws!
Hello, my name is Colby Schlegel-Barber and I am a Boy Scout from Troop 631 in Milton, VT.
Throughout the last 10 years of my Scouting career, I have learned many new skills, grown as a leader, and made lifelong memories. I am now working on the rank of Eagle Scout, and my Eagle Scout Service Project.
For my Eagle Project I will be working with Passion 4 Paws which is a non-profit foster- based dog rescue in Shelburne Vermont. They rescue homeless, abandoned, neglected or abused dogs and will care for them in a loving environment for as long as it takes to find their forever home. I will plan and fund the adoption, healthcare, food, accessories and rehoming expenses for at least two dogs, at an average expense of $700 per dog. With Passion 4 Paws, this project will ensure the health and safety for each dog that we are able to rescue.
Members of my Troop will also be working 4 separate transportation and foster work sessions that take place as deliveries of rescue animals arrive in Vermont. We will also use funds raised to construct dog toys that the Scouts will assemble and contribute to Passion 4 Paws.
I plan to foster and personally care for one of these rescue dogs, until they can be united with their forever owners.
In addition to this virtual fundraiser, my Troop and I will be conducting bottle drives in the community in the months of February and March to provide most of the funding for this project.
My family has adopted a rescue dog, and the process has been personally therapeutic for me. Two years ago, we even helped my grandfather adopt a rescue dog that we fostered. I hope to help other families in the same way.
Any funds that exceed my goal, will be invested into additional fostering expenses with Passion 4 Paws!

If you would like to donate bottles but are busy Sunday there is a drop box at Frey's and the Exonn Mobile bottle redemption would be happy to accept them anytime! They are open 7 days a week. Just let them know they're for Colby's project!
