Committee Members are hosting a dinner/calcutta fundraiser to benefit the dog park. Monies raised will be used to make improvement to the high traffic entrance at the park, future features and general upkeep. Although this park is located on Town Property, it was established such that the park users are responsible to fundraise, oversee and maintain the park. Myself and 2 other volunteers hold a contract with the town accordingly. We are always looking for more ambassadors of the park to get involved.
Format will be social, meal and Calcutta from which 100 balls will be sold. Balls will be drawn out, 1 by 1 and the last ball in wins the $1000 grand prize. $100 ticket includes dinner for 2 (family style spaghetti, meatballs, salad, rolls) Extra meal tickets with a ball are available for $12 each, or you can support the event by purchasing a Dinner only ticket for $20 to help the cause..
Please consider support of the park by purchasing a ticket or coming just for the meal and fun night out. If 4 people split a ticket, it's only $25 each to support the park.
Email me if you'd like me to hold a ticket for you, specify a lucky number you may have and we can reserve that "ball" for you if it's available. Checks can be written to David Rouleau, Dog Park Calcutta in the Memo and mail to 34 Goldsbury Woods Road, Barre VT 05641. Proceeds of the event will be presented to the Select Board to be placed in the GL account for the Dog Park.
As noted, we are raising money to address the high traffic entry way which becomes muddy or dusty. Plan is to remove 3" of existing dirt and replace with a stay matt material that will address the issue. We'll also create paths leading to the memorial bench/rainbow bridge/memorial board, as well as into the park to encourage traffic flow allowing grass to grow back.
