Sleepy Hollow Inn, Ski & Bike Center in Huntington is hosting Full Moon Sunday on March 5th from 4 to 9 pm.
The event features Nordic skiing through silent woods on lighted trails, weather permitting; a free lesson from 4 to 5 pm by reservation; a bonfire in a fire pit ringed by hanging seats and lots of chili, s'mores, hot drinks, and marshmallows--from 5 to 7 pm; ending with apres-ski music and dancing in the Round Barn from 7 to 9 pm.
The cost of the event is $25, including the music, food, lessons, and hot drinks. Those with season passes and punch passes at Sleepy Hollow or reciprocal passes from other outdoor centers are set; others will need half-day passes, which are $16, $14 for over 65s, $11 for kids, and free for under 6s. Tickets can be purchased at https://sleepyhollowstore.square.site. No alcohol will be served, but BYOB is permitted.
For those who want to continue past 9 p.m., eight rooms sleeping two to four people are available at the inn for $135 to $155. This is a rare opportunity since the inn is usually reserved for weddings, family reunions, business retreats, camps, and other groups. But a limited number of full moon skiers can enjoy a staycation in one of the inn's cozy rooms, along with breakfast the next morning.
To get tickets, reserve a place in the lesson, book a room, or learn more, contact (802) 434-2283 or info@skisleepyhollow.com.
