From stories in her new book Marrying Mongolia, A Memoir, Sas Carey will tell how she has climbed mountains, swum across lakes and rivers, and slept on the ground of three continents. She has ridden planes, trains, cars, bikes, boats, horses, camels, and reindeer. A Quaker, Sas is an award-winning documentary film director, author, spiritual healer, registered nurse, mother, and grandmother.
Sas will be introduced by Bill Sessions.
The book's publisher Peter Mittenthal of IPI International Polar Institute will be present to talk about how Sas and he worked together to bring the book into being. Books will be available to be signed and inscribed.
Since it is the Tibetan-Mongolian New Year on Monday, Mongolian dumplings will be served.
The event will be held at the Champlain Valley Unitarian Universalist Society, 2 Duane Avenue, Middlebury.
