NOTICE OF HEARING
RE: DISCONTINUANCE OF A PORTION OF SHAW ROAD, ROXBURY VERMONT

Pursuant to the provisions of 19 V.S.A. article 708 (a), the Selectboard of the Town of Roxbury, on its own motion, hereby gives notice, in accordance with 19 V.S.A. article 709, that the Selectboard of the Town of Roxbury, Vermont will meet in the area of 430 Shaw Road in Roxbury at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2023 for a site visit.
The Board will meet at the Roxbury Community Hall, a public place in the Town, at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2023 for the purpose of receiving testimony and hearing all persons interested in the matter of whether the Town of Roxbury shall discontinue that portion of Shaw Road.

If after examination of the premises and hearing any and all interested persons, the Selectboard judges that the public good, necessity and convenience of the inhabitants of the Town of Roxbury require that said portion of highway be discontinued, it will be so ordered. No compensation is available by law to owners of lands over which a discontinued town highway ran. The hearing will be based solely on the question of discontinuance.
