Hello!
I'm posting about a really wonderful festival called SolarFest, that is happening July 18-20 in Tinmouth, Vermont. This year, it's celebrating its 20th anniversary! I myself have been attending since it started, and I'm happy to spread the word about it!
SolarFest, the 3-day music festival and sustainability conference, has a little something for everyone:
Music headliners include Lukas Nelson and P.O.T.R., the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and Break of Reality (who, by the way, did an awesome cover of the Game of Thrones theme song: http://youtu.be/ydRAb9cwHnA)
Workshops cover everything from Community Solar Farms to Weed Walks, with Climate Change Camp and a workshop on Building Your Own Electric Motorcycle (and another on Making your own Mead).
Keynote Speakers are Sandor Katz, the New York Times Bestselling Author of "The Art of Fermentation" as well as Alec Guettel is the co-founder of Sungevity, Inc.
There is also a whole stage dedicated to children's performances, and an area full of children's activities (sponsored by Wonderfeet Kids' Museum). Beyond child-specific performances, we are also holding our ever-popular Theater In The Woods: a moving play written by our very own Vermont author, Frank Asch.
And for the second year in a row, there is a Mini Maker Faire.
So if you're interested, (and, by the way, camping is included with your ticket,) check it out at http://www.solarfest.org/ and see you there!
