Coming up Thursday on Central Vermont Community Radio: We plumb the mysteries of uncrewed balloons and other flying objects, plus talk about what we can learn now from the story of someone blacklisted in the 1950s.
9:00 - 10:00 am
At a time when slow, high-flying objects are in the news, weather forecaster Roger Hill returns to WGDR to talk about weather balloons, what they look like, how common they are, what we learn from them, and more. Plus we'll check in with him on the latest climate prognoses, especially with the current period of La Niña forecast to end soon, and how that's likely to affect our weather over the next several years.

At a time when some US teachers are being threatened with prosecution if they don't hide the books they bought for their pupils, it's useful to ask what we can learn from crackdowns on ideas in the past. "Trumbo: Red White & Blacklisted" stars Donny Osman as Dalton Trumbo, one of the original blacklisted Hollywood Ten denied their livelihoods as writers for decades. The play is being performed in Waterbury Center this weekend and White River Junction on March 4 and 5. Osman will join us to talk about Trumbo, the play, and what we can learn from Trumbo's life.
