Dear Neighbors and Friends,
We hope to entice you out of your house on Sunday, February 19 for a 2pm screening of the Vermont-made, award-winning feature film "The Summer of Walter Hacks."
The story takes place in 1952, in Vermont and follows an 11-year-old farm boy, Walter, during one hard but adventurous summer. This is a gritty coming-of-age adventure film that will appeal to those from 9 to 90!
You will spy many familiar places and several familiar faces in cameo roles throughout the film. Here is a link to the credit role just to give you an idea: https://vimeo.com/16462260.
Come on out and watch a well made Vermont film, meet the filmmakers (George Woodard, Director and yours truly - Gerianne, Producer) and some of the cast in attendance, including "Walter" himself. He grew up quite a bit since 2010 when this film first premiered. Here's a trailer for you to enjoy: https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/41106091
Tickets are just $7 in advance (https://www.vergennesoperahouse.org) or at the door and all money raised will go toward the All Access Project for the opera house.
This is a rare screening of this film, which you can't download or purchased a DVD. The only way to see it is in a room full of people in a hall like the historic Vergennes Opera House.
Come on out and bring a friend or two or three. It'll be fun!
Cheers,
Gerianne
p.s. George will be sharing some advance footage from his next feature film "The Farm Boy" at the end of the film.
