February 15, 2023 The Voices of Hispanic Vermonters
Hispanic and Latino are often used interchangeably though they actually mean two different things. Hispanic refers to people who are descended from Spanish-speaking populations, while Latino refers to people who are from or descended from people from Latin America, which include countries where Spanish is not the dominant language. We shall focus on Hispanic Vermonters. Hispanics comprise the fastest-growing segment of the US population, including Vermont. Hispanic Vermonters will share their common and varied experiences, challenges, and hopes of living in one of the Whitest States in the nation. Recommended Reading: Drown by Junot Diaz
