The 4-Town Coalition's Food & Farm Resilience Committee invites you to a Welcome Meeting Monday, February 27th from 6:00 - 8:00PM at the Royalton Academy.
The primary goal for this meeting is to expand membership of the 4TC Food & Farm Resilience Committee in order to build the capacity needed to continue making progress on Committee goals & initiatives as informed by town residents.
The 4TC Food & Farm Resilience Committee conducted a Needs Assessment survey in the Summer of 2021 to identify agricultural needs and interests of residents who live in the 4-town area, including surrounding towns. In March and April 2022, we hosted a series of community conversations to dig into which elements of the survey are the highest priority to pursue first. These two initiatives provided invaluable insight into what community members would like to see when it comes to our working landscapes, and in order to keep the momentum going, the Committee is looking for new members!
At this meeting, we will summarize the key takeaways from the Needs Assessment Survey and community conversations, and we will be asking participants to join the Committee to help with the planning for key initiatives that came from those two processes. You do NOT need to be fully committed to joining the Committee to attend this initial Welcome Meeting - we encourage you to come if you are interested in specific projects related to local Food and Farm Resilience, regardless of whether or not you would like to join the Committee.
There will be a catered dinner at the Welcome Meeting, and kids are welcomed. Please RVSP by emailing sorocommunitygarden@gmail.com or replying to this post by Tuesday, Feb 21. (Folks are welcome to attend if you miss this deadline, RSVPs are just to help plan the catered dinner!)
