This month's Contact Improv Sunday class and jam is this Sunday! We have moved our 2nd Sunday of the month Class and Jam to Contemporary Dance Studio on Langdon street!!!!!!!
CLASS from 3:00-4:15pm taught by Jamie Hansen (see description below). The asking donation is $10-$30 and no longer requires pre-registration.
JAM from 4:15-6pm with opening circle at 4:30pm.
Suggested donation sliding scale $5-$15.
If you are new to contact improvisation we highly encourage you to attend our class before joining a jam. For the jam, during opening circle we will share a brief description of jam guidelines and etiquette. Please plan to arrive in time for the circle! A rotating group of facilitators will always be on hand to answer questions and for support.
Covid-19 Protocol:
If you have any symptoms or are not feeling well in the slightest please stay at home. It will be a mask optional space.

CLASS DESCRIPTION: Following the Path of Least Resistance
We will explore being present with the Natural physical and energetic flow within ourselves and learn how to sync this with our partner's own field of movement. From here we can explore the dance that happens in the space around the point of contact. We will call in soft breath to guide us to yield, and efficiently recycle the gift of momentum towards its path of least resistance.
Jamie Hansen found C.I. in Portland OR. in 1996. After a few years he headed south to Berkeley, CA where he deepened his love for the practice. After several years of focusing his energy outside of dance he is excited to weave in his kinetic experience of design/building of 3D models and living spaces into building further dimensions of movement through space.
