Brain Club is a FREE weekly community education series offered free (donations appreciated) by All Brains Belong VT. Join us to learn how brain science impacts how we learn, work, play, and live. 1 in 5 people thinks, learns, and/or communicates differently than the so-called "typical" brain. The "one size fits all" approach to most systems in society leaves many people in our community feeling left out, "othered," and isolated. Come learn more about this and more at Brain Club! This month's theme centers around Urgency Culture. We live in a world where there is so much pressure to do more, achieve more, and be more. The pressure to "do the thing" is hurting our health, literally.

Brain Club: Urgency Culture

2/7: Urgency Culture & Internalized Ableism . Often we get so caught up in "doing the thing" because of the shame we feel for NOT "doing the thing." Together, we'll unpack the relationship between urgency culture, ableism, and internalized ableism.

2/14: Urgency Culture in Everyday Life (Community Panel). Hear from a panel of community members about how "urgency culture" plays out in their lives.

2/21: Urgency Culture at Work. Productivity. Efficiency. Results. Often workplace culture prioritizes these values while unknowingly missing out on opportunities to support employee self-actualization and access needs. Hear from our community panelists about "urgency culture" in the workplace.

2/28: Book Chat: Brené Brown's "I Thought It Was Just Me (But It Isn't)." Brene Brown defines "shame" as the deeply painful emotional experience of feeling defective or deficient. Much of our most profound triggers for dysregulation can be tied back to shame. If you have read the book, awesome! If not, join us anyway!
