The winter-spring session of the Central Vermont Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) continues on Wednesday, February 8 at 1:30 pm at the Montpelier Senior Activity Center. Author M.T. Anderson will present The Life and Death of the Russian Avant Garde. Anderson, a prolific author whose work includes Symphony of the City of the Dead and The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing, will discuss Russian Avant Garde artists A century ago, after the Russian Revolution, Soviet writers, artists, and composers aspired to create a new art for the shining future of mankind. The experiment flourished for ten years until it was crushed by the USSR. We will discuss a few of these silenced creators and look at some great music, art, poetry, and prose you may never have heard of before.

You may register for all 10 remaining weekly presentations―seven talks plus three films―for $40 ($70 for two) or for individual sessions at $8 apiece.
