Vermont Philharmonic Presents Vermont Star Musicians In Winter Concerts
The Vermont Philharmonic will perform its Winter Concerts "Stars of Winter," featuring a gifted young pianist and a celebrated trio. Concerts are on Saturday, February 11th at 7:30 PM at the Elley-Long Music Center at St Michael's College and Sunday, February 12th, at 2:00 PM at the Barre Opera House, with conductor & music director Lou Kosma.
Laura Zhou-Hackett (a senior at Burlington High School) won the 2022 Jon Borowicz Memorial Scholarship Competition and will perform the Adagio from Felix Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto in D minor, op.40. The Philharmonic and the world-class Champlain Trio will perform Beethoven's Concerto for Violin, Cello, and Piano, Opus 56 – the "Triple Concerto". The program opens with Copland's Outdoor Overture, followed by Strauss' Serenade for Winds.
