It's time to sing! Join leader Maria Schumann for a weekly sing, Mondays 6-7:30, at the Highland Center for the Arts in Greensboro. We'll focus on traditional folk songs from Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus but will also learn songs from the Baltics, the Balkans, and Georgia. Through melody, harmony, dissonance, rhythm, and images of nature, these ancient songs create a deep and powerful experience that resonates through mind, body, and soul. We'll learn from ear and we will sing both in unison and in harmony. Come to the first couple of sessions and see if its your cup of tea, after that we will ask for a commitment to participate fully, as some of the songs are complex and take a long time to learn. We will end the session with a spring concert, TBA. No singing experience necessary, but yes ability to sing on tune. Suggested donation $5-25 per meeting. Unless you have had Covid in the last month, please take a rapid covid test before attending.
