Free Film Champlain: The Lake Between at Vergennes Opera House

Visit Vergennes on Saturday, July 12 to celebrate French Heritage Day. At 1pm join filmmaker Caro Thompson at YOUR Vergennes Opera House to explore early French diplomacy and trade with Native nations in the Champlain Valley and beyond. Filmmaker Caro Thompson considers her research for the documentary a journey of personal diplomacy with members of the French-Canadian, Abenaki, Mohawk, and Seneca peoples. The Emmy-award winning documentary also connects the Champlain Valley with the larger events of the Colonial Period.
