Thursday evening at 6:30 pm at Barrett Hall in South Strafford there will be a dinner and staged reading of an original play, free and open to the public. Sponsored by The Universalist Society of Strafford, readers from the Society and nearby community will present "The Great Unitarian Exile," -- the story of the persecution and exile of the unitarians (The Polish Brethren or Socinians) of 17th century Poland. Through their universities and printing presses, these free-thinking people promoted the concepts of the Separation of Church and State, Freedom of Religion, and Social Equality, ideas which spread throughout Europe and eventually reached our Founding Fathers.
