New Haven Conservation Committee to host a walk at the Old Nash Farm at 1089 River Road in New Haven, VT on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM.
Join naturalist and field biologist Craig Zondag as we explore the riparian habitats along the New Haven River in Winter. Recently this area has been home to beaver, otter, and mink. Waterfowl can still be seen taking advantage of open water stretches and a bobcat was spotted on the frozen river last winter. This unique offering will afford glimpses of this dynamic ecosystem and its value to agriculture and wildlife.
If there is snow on the ground, come prepared with snow shoes if you have them. Dress appropriately in layers. Thank you to Phoebe Vaughan and family for making this possible. Parking is available on either side of the red sheds and in front of the barn. Please take care to occupy no more space than you need (or carpool) so that everyone's vehicle can be accommodated.
