Technology 4 Tomorrow empowers people in need with easy to understand technology education. T4T is partnering with MSAC to provide Digital Literacy classes, which go over the basics to help become more tech savvy. Starting February 14th, T4T will host 5 classes on Tuesday afternoons. Contact our office at 223-2518 for more information and to sign up. Here is a summary of the classes offered:
- Introduction to Search Engines: This class explains what a search engine is, the differences between a webpage and a website, and a deep dive demonstration of some useful search features of Google search. Finally we will cover some specialized search engines.
- Understanding Smartphones: In this class you will learn about the features of smartphones, common touch screen functions, navigation, adding contacts, and accessing and quitting apps.
- Dealing with Misinformation in the Media Today: In this class you will be given specific guidance on dealing with information and misinformation in the media today. This class is developed in collaboration with Arizona State University.
- Introduction to the Internet: In this class you will learn about the following topics: Browser basics, address bar, secure sites, https://, open, close, retrieve tabs and windows, bookmarks, and zoom functions (Created in partnership with Grow for Google).
- Fundamentals of Internet Privacy: In this class you will learn about the following topics: Connections, controls, social media, web search, consent, access, concerns.
