Open Farm and Studio Tour ~ Discover the Heart of the Islands

Past event
Jul 12 to 13, 2014

What are all the yellow signs throughout the islands you might ask. Well they are for the 8th annual Open Farm and Studio Tour - called by those in the know "Discover the Heart of the Islands". The signs, by Friday this week, will be adorned with red heart balloons. If followed on Saturday or Sunday (July 12 and 13) they will lead you to one of 25 different venues open to the public. It might be an artists' studio, the farmers' market, a farm where you can find goats, horses, greenhouses, mules, fainting goats or blueberries and apples or a vineyard. If you have ever wondered what is at the end of some of the islands' long driveways you are in for a treat.

Racu fired pottery is at the end of one of them, and a professional furniture maker's workshop is at the end of another. Find a vineyard at the end of another long driveway and pick your own blueberries (when in season) and an artists paintings at the end of yet another. Maps for the tour are available at any of the stops on the tour so if you don't have a map - don't fret - just find one stop on the tour, pick up a map and go from there. Maps are available at the South End Cafe in Isle La Motte and the Grand Isle Art Works gallery in Grand Isle. There is also a bike tour on Saturday coordinated by Vermont Farm Tours of Burlington.

Come on out and Discover the Heart of the Islands - and better yet it's FREE
