Migrant Justice and Milk with Dignity

This presentation will spotlight Migrant Justice organizers from the immigrant dairy farmworker community in Vermont. Attendees will be given a window into the context of migrant workers on dairy farms in VT, how and why the organization was founded by farmworkers and learn about the groundbreaking Milk with Dignity Program. The presentation will demystify the northeast dairy supply chain and roots of power inequity within it. Presenters will discuss the Worker-Driven Social Responsibility model which farmworkers are using to bring a new day across sectors and hold corporations accountable for human rights abuses in their supply chains. The presentation will conclude with an update on the expansion Milk with Dignity and how to get involved and support local farmworker rights!

Participants can register to ZOOM in from home by going to www.stjathenaeum.org. Select Events in the green menu bar > Adult Events > Migrant Justice and register for the event. A ZOOM link will be sent to your email.

For people who do not have Internet access at home the event will be streamed at the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum and the Cobleigh Public Library

Migrant Justice is a grassroots community organization founded by and led by the immigrant farmworker community working on dairy farms in Vermont. Our mission is to build the voice, capacity, and power of the farmworker community and engage community partners to organize for economic justice and human rights.
