On Sunday January 29, Brookfield native and RUHS grad Katie Jickling will share her Fulbright research from nine recent months living in Chennai, India. Katie interviewed lay women, feminist theologians, and activist nuns all working to protest unjust systems, and develop more equitable institutions. Her project explores questions of social change through the lens of women in the church. How do people -- and women in particular-- change institutions from within? This presentation will share specifics from South Indian , and applicable lessons, drawn from people writing, teaching and working to challenge the status quo. This free event is sponsored by the Brookfield Public Library and will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the Pond Village Church in Brookfield.
