Fletcher-Lehman and the Barn Cats is a Vermont, six piece, honky tonk band bringing you classic country covers from the 1950's to the early 2000's. Fletcher Lehman grew up singing four-part harmonies in the Mennonite Church in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Her early exposure to hymns and Appalachian folk music led her to develop a deep love for country music. Fletcher stated "Country music is about capturing the range of common human experience, that is, emotions. It does so with cleverness, nostalgia, and rhinestone theatrics. My goal is to both get people dancing, and to maybe make them shed a few tears in their beers." The Barn Cats is comprised of Geordie Lynd (vocals, fiddle, guitar) Mike Drury (electric guitar), Will Morrison (pedal steel), Noah Hann (Bass) and Stefan Amidon (drums).
Fletcher Lehman will also be offering a lesson in Texas two-step partner dancing prior to the music. Fletcher has taught partner dancing at festivals including, Old Tone Roots Festival, Red Wing Roots Festival, Spice on Snow and Blackpot Camp. "Music and dance are meant to be hand in hand, each supporting the other. Texas two-step is the perfect glove fit for country music. You can use it for the fast driving songs, the mid-tempo shuffles, and the heart wrenching slow songs. So no matter what the song, it's a dance song." Fletcher's class will cover the basics of what to do with your feet, where to put your hands, frame and dance etiquette to promote safety on the dance floor.
