We are pleased to announce that Norwich University will host a screening of the film The Quarry Project on Thursday, January 26th, at 5:30pm in Mack auditorium on our campus (158 Harmon Drive
Northfield, VT). The screening will be followed by a discussion with members of the artistic team behind the project.
This screening will be free to Norwich students, staff, and faculty and open to the public with a suggested donation of $5. Norwich's screening is made possible with support from the Norwich Humanities Initiative, Department of Global Humanities, Art + Architecture, and Pegasus Players.
The Quarry Project, conceived and directed by Hannah Dennison, was a site-specific dance/theater piece created for the Wells Lamson, one of the oldest, deepest granite quarries in the country, situated in the small village of Websterville, Vermont. Seven years in the making, the sold-out performances happened over 14 days in August of 2022.
The 40 minute film of these performances will be shown in Various locations in Vermont and New Hampshire starting December 12, 2022.
The film director is Lukas Huffman, co-founder and content director of Huffman Studio, an award-winning digital production agency, now based in his hometown of Montpelier. Lukas comes to media production after a career as a professional snowboarder.
