Do you have an aging pet? Are you wondering how to help them—and yourself—navigate this time of their life with more comfort and peace?
Please join me at this presentation, where we'll take an in-depth look at the two most common issues affecting older pets' happiness: mobility (their ability to get around comfortably) and senility (confusion and dementia, which often go un- or under-recognized). We'll also talk about using the JOURNEYS scale (I'll provide this to you) and other tools to directly assess their quality of life.
It's hard to think about this! Yet it's so helpful to have some preparation in advance. There will be some tears, but there will also be laughter, and you'll know you're not alone.
Presented by me, Dr. Erika Bruner, a veterinarian in practice in Central Vermont since 2002. I'm here to help pets (and their people!) be as comfortable as possible through at-home end-of-life care and consultations, including home euthanasia.
