Thursday, January 19th is Homelessness Awareness Day in Springfield.
The Springfield Town Library is a drop-off site for anyone who can help those who are unhoused.
We are glad to partner with Springfield Supported Housing Program to lend a hand.
Sharing the number of people served by SSHP:
Total number of people served by SSHP = 308
Number of chronically homeless = 35
People in emergency shelter (hotel/motel) = 85
People in a place not meant for habitation = 35
Items of warmth needed: hats, gloves, scarves, blankets, sleeping bags, hand & feet warmers, sweaters, jackets, etc.
Other helpful items: phone chargers, charging blocks, battery packs, shelf-stable snacks, MRE meals, self-care essentials
