Let Internationally renowned composer, musician and performer Michael Wimberly get your heart dancing and your feet tapping in an hour of music to honor Dr, King and lift our community. Michael will be joined by local musicians Mowgli Gianitti and Brian DeAngelo.
Other highlights of the evening will include poet Jana Lillie performing the powerful poem, "His Dream", presentation of awards to Betsy Kane's SW Tech graphic arts students who have offered up powerful works in the MLK Poster contest, and recognition of the winners of the MLK Essay contest at area schools. Hear the latest news from the NAACP in our area and the Bennington County Open Arms and have an opportunity to make a goodwill offering to strengthen their work.
The evening starts at 6 PM when OldCastle Theatre at 331 Main St. in Bennington opens their doors for us to savor the essays and posters created by our students who are grappling with Dr. King and his message for today!
Thanks to the Greater Bennington Peace and Justice Center and the Interfaith Council for organizing this event! Our gratitude to these groups and to several area faith communities and Dr. Dick Dundas for funding the events.
Join your community for an evening to remember!
