Mark your calendars for a fun evening under the lights at the Vershire Town Center Ice Rink. The Vershire Rec Committee and the Vershire Town Center Committee are planning a community fundraising and kick-off event, Saturday, January 21. The family-friendly event will start with a bonfire, hot cocoa, and skating at 3pm, followed by a spaghetti supper by donation from 4pm-6pm. All donations raised with refreshments and the supper will go to a fundraising campaign for The Vershire Town Center Pavilion project.
The fundraising campaign will officially begin January 18th through an online, crowdfunding platform hosted by Patroncity, and supported by the Agency of Commerce & Community Development. The Town of Vershire will have 60 DAYS from the start of the campaign to raise $65,000 for a beautiful and permanent 30'x42' timber frame pavilion that will be located behind the Town Center Building next to the Playground. Through the efforts of TimberHomes Vermont and other local contractors, the Town of Vershire, VerShare, the Recreation Committee, and the volunteer Vershire Town Center Committee the vision is to create an accessible and public outdoor space that will become a fixture for community gatherings and events.
Thanks to a community grant matching opportunity from the Vermont Better Places Program, and at no direct cost to the town, the Town of Vershire has been offered a 2 to 1 match–if the community raises $20,000 by March 19th, Vermont Better Places will match that sum with $40,000 in funding. The whole $20,000 will need to be raised by the Vershire community between January 18th and March 19th, otherwise, the town will not receive a match.

Sign-up for the February 18th Snowshoe-a-thon at www.vershare.org. All the money VerShare raises during the event will go to the pavilion campaign.
